SHIBUGEI × SHIMOKITA｜Echo at Laboratory12

SHIBUYA AWARDS presented “Echo - SHIBUYA AWARDS 2025-26 Award-Winning Artists Touring Exhibition -”, a touring exhibition of award-winning artists from SHIBUYA AWARDS 2025-26, as part of SHIBUGEI × SHIMOKITA at Laboratory12 in Shimokitazawa.

This exhibition was held as part of SHIBUYA AWARDS’ post-award initiative, connecting selected and award-winning works to new venues, regions, and cultural contexts beyond the original award setting.

By bringing works first encountered in Shibuya into the cultural area of Shimokitazawa, the exhibition aimed to create new relationships between artworks, audiences, cities, and artistic expression.

About Echo

Echo is a touring exhibition project that reflects how works selected through SHIBUYA AWARDS can resonate beyond their first presentation and reach new spaces, audiences, and communities.

Artworks can take on different meanings depending on where they are shown and who encounters them.

At Laboratory12, the exhibition reintroduced works by award-winning artists in a more intimate setting, offering a different viewing experience from the nominee exhibition and awards ceremony.

About SHIBUGEI × SHIMOKITA

SHIBUGEI × SHIMOKITA connects the post-award activities of SHIBUYA AWARDS with the cultural context of Shimokitazawa.

Shimokitazawa is known for its independent culture, including music, theater, vintage fashion, small shops, and creative communities, forming a different cultural layer from Shibuya.

By presenting award-winning works in this area, SHIBUGEI aims to open new perspectives on the artworks and expand the possibilities of each artist’s practice.
