Important Notice: Application Deadline Extended in Response to the Earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture

We extend our sincere sympathies to everyone affected by the earthquake that occurred in the Kumamoto region of Kumamoto Prefecture on July 28, 2026.

In consideration of those in and around the affected areas who must prioritize safety and essential daily-life needs, the SHIBUYA AWARDS 2026 Executive Committee has decided to extend the application deadline for the SHIBUYA AWARDS 2026-27 OPEN CALL as follows.

Previous deadline

Friday, July 31, 2026, 11:59 p.m. JST

New deadline

August 7, 2026, 11:59 p.m. JST

The extended deadline applies equally to all applicants, regardless of nationality, place of residence, area of activity, or application category.

Applications for which both the application fee payment and the application form submission have already been completed remain valid. No resubmission, repeated form submission, or additional payment is required.

An application is considered complete only when both the application fee payment and the application form submission have been completed by the new deadline. The extension applies to general applications, student applications, and additional works.

In accordance with the existing application rules, changes or replacements to previously submitted artwork information and images will not generally be accepted. Applicants who need to correct contact information or report a clear submission error should contact the office.

Application fees, eligibility requirements, the permitted number of works, selection criteria, judging procedures, and the currently announced judging schedule remain unchanged.

Please continue to place your safety and essential daily-life needs first.
