SHIBUYA AWARDS 2026-27 | Finalized First-Round Selection Results | 128 Artists / Groups, 144 Artworks
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who submitted work to the 12th SHIBUYA AWARDS 2026-27, “CROSSING.”
Following the completion of the first-round review, subsequent verification of application and judging records, and a supplemental review, the first-round selection results for this year have now been finalized.
The finalized first-round selection consists of 128 artists / groups and 144 artworks.
On August 13, 2026, SHIBUYA AWARDS announced an initial first-round selection of 120 artists / groups and 135 artworks.
This year, in response to the earthquake that occurred in the Kumamoto region of Kumamoto Prefecture, the original application deadline of July 31 was extended to August 7.
Following this extension, we conducted a final verification of application and judging records, including submissions received during the extended application period and applications that required additional administrative confirmation around the deadline.
We also reviewed a limited number of works that had required particularly careful consideration during the initial first-round review.
To ensure that all eligible submissions were reflected in the results fairly and accurately, a supplemental review was conducted using the same criteria as the original first-round review.
As a result, 8 additional artists / groups and 9 artworks were selected.
The official first-round selection for the 12th SHIBUYA AWARDS 2026-27 is therefore finalized as:
There are no cancellations or removals from the 120 artists / groups and 135 artworks announced on August 13.
The works selected through the supplemental review have the same status as all other first-round selections and will be included in the official SHIBUYA AWARDS records and certificates of selection.

The announcement published on August 13, 2026, listing 120 artists / groups and 135 artworks, will remain available as a record of the initial first-round announcement.
